Booterstown is a coastal town in the Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown county. It is 7 km south of the Dublin city centre and neighbours the areas Sandymount, Blackrock and Williamstown.

There are various pubs and restuarants in the area, such as like Winnie’s Craft Café, Restaurant Talavera (at Radisson Blu St. Helen’s Hotel), The Merrion Inn, and Bianconi’s. There are also many convenience stores situated this area, and an award winning  SuperValu just a short drive away.

Booterstown has two nearby shopping centres – The Merrion Shopping Centre, with a large Tesco, Peter Mark, Island Living, Fiji Coffee Shop, and the Blackrock Centre with large SuperValu, Holland & Barrett, Art & Hobby Shop, Dubray Books, Active Sportswear and Next.

Booterstown has a DART station and is served by the Dublin Bus routes: 46a, 46n, 7, 7b, 7d, 84a, 84n, 116, 145, 17, 47, 4, 78 and 8.

Also, an Aircoach that services the area with links to the Dublin airport.

Schools and Colleges
Booterstown is surrounded by many schools within the area like Booterstown National School, Our Lady Mercy Girls School, St. Andrew’s College, St. Mary’s Boys National School, William Park School, Blackrock College, Colaistes’ Iosagain and Eoin, and Dominican College Sion Hill.

Booterstown Marsh is the only remaining saltmarsh on the south shore of Dublin and provides a bird sanctuary.

Both Blackrock Clinic and St. Vincent’s University Hospital are within the area.

Booterstown is also near the Elm Park Golf and Sports Club and Blackrock Park.

Cultural Amenities
The Tara Towers Hotel remains a link to the Tara name and is still a landmark today. The historical Bellevue Merrion Cemetery is also next to the Tara Towers Hotel.

And both the Waldock Art Gallery and the Millrace Gallery are nearby, just over in Blackrock.
