Foxrock is a suburb of Dublin within the Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown county. This suburb was brought to life with the development of the Harcourt Street railway line that was built in 1854. It is a small village that borders the suburbs Blackrock, Cabinteely, Carrickmines, Deansgrange, and Leopardstown.
Award winning Thomas’s of Foxrock is also in the Village.
There are several local stores for shopping like The Guinness Gallery where you can find art glass, paintings, sculptures, jewelry and elegant giftware. Pace and Cassini boutique where you can find affordable high-quality designer clothing. And there is a Dunnes Stores within the area. The closest shopping centres are the Dunnes Stores Cornelscourt or the Stillorgan Shopping Centre. The Park Shopping centre Carrickmines is also nearby.
The major dual carriageway for Foxrock is the N11.
The LUAS Green Line light rail system opened along the old Harcourt Street railway line, leading towards Sandyford (3 km from Foxrock) rather than passing through it. The closest stop to Foxrock along the LUAS Green Line is Carrickmines.
Dublin Bus offers bus routes: 46a and 145 which lead from Foxrock Church to the City Centre.
Schools and Colleges
There are several schools in the area such as Dimples Creche, Stepaside Educate Together National School, Holy Trinity National School, St. Patrick’s Girls National School, and the Loreto College Foxrock. The Lycée Français d’Irlande preschool-primary campus is also in Foxrock.
Leopardstown racecourse is in Foxrock and it is the only one remaining in the greater metropolitan area. The town also ranks second in the Irish horseracing industry, just behind The Curragh in County Kildare. There is also a golf course, Foxrock Golf Club, and a stream that runs the southern boundary of the racecourse.
